Latency Adjustment for Studios
The recent release of JackTrip Desktop App 2.4.0 replaced older buffer strategies with a simpler Latency Adjustment slider. Today we rolled out a similar change for all existing studios, upgrading them to use our AI-driven buffering technology that reduces audio latency while maximizing quality.
A new “Latency” slider for your studio is now available under Advanced Audio Settings. JackTrip does its best to automatically find the ideal balance for you, but just turn this up when higher quality sound is desired.
With this change, we’ve reset the Advanced Audio Settings to defaults for some studios. If you’ve made any changes to these in the past, you may want to take a fresh look and re-test your settings. Just be careful, since it’s easy to break things when straying from the defaults!
Faster Sessions in Top Regions
We made some updates a few weeks ago to improve startup times for studio sessions, during periods of higher activity. Today we are upgrading the most active regions for JackTrip so that studio sessions will (almost) always start in under 20 10 seconds. These include:
- Ashburn
- Atlanta
- Boston
- Boydton
- Chicago
- Columbus
- Philadelphia
- San Francisco
- Seattle
- London
- Los Angeles
- Miami
- New York City
Starting today, we’ll continue monitoring activity across regions where JackTrip is available, and upgrading them as activity grows past certain thresholds. If you’re not close to these locations, help us grow by inviting friends to your studio! Not only will you get a $5 credit for every person referred who is new to JackTrip, you’ll also help make your sessions start faster.
