Hiya, I been on JT a few times but as of yet there is no way to see anything open that can be joined or like an open public sessions.
It seems a long winded trip to get to someone to actually jam with.
I go on to Jam trip and I’m met with names of people looking for jams (I think?) and no way to actually, there and then, get in a jam with them.
Am I missing something?

Before I commiserate, let me share that Studio Owners can use the visibility settings for their studio to mark it “Public”.
When a Studio Owner starts up a “Public” studio it up it will show up towards the bottom of the JackTrip Homepage and be clearly marked “Public”. Then anyone can log in and join.
The power and responsibility for what happens in Studios lies with Studio Owners who have created a studio that they have set to Public and started it up.
Jacktrip offers free servers for up to 5 musicians for 30 minutes, and that’s fine to try it out. I think JackTrip also offers an introductory free month of unlimited services, which should help to really give it a go. And their pricing is very reasonable imho.
The bottom line is that a wildly talented producer like you who wants to stir things up would benefit greatly from popping some coin to show everyone how its done.

apologies if you already have a paid account…but that seems to be the way to begin generating the kind of activity you’re looking for. Maybe shared cost and usage could help. 
also - you can message others but it doesn’t seem to be very effective communication.

I thinkthere could be a cheaper tier, say $2,50 a month where people could host their own server with less of the options from the tier above.
which could have say more max users but less of the benefits but theb maybe upper tiers with own server too.

there are currently only two options for unmanaged servers: fully loaded or audio only.
Neither one requires a paid subscription but if you go with a full setup it includes all of the features of the Lite Plan but without a subscription. Make sense?
Good idea! I made a Feature Request template which you can use for Feature Requests.
After getting up to date on pricing and policies I see that without a paid subscription, your full featured unmanaged studios will still be able use all the features included in the “Lite” plan.
All of the features in the Lite Plan are basic necessities. Which features would you want and which would you not want?
