Now Available in Nashville!
JackTrip’s studios are now available in Nashville! If you live in or around this legendary Music City, we encourage you to try it out for improved latency.
Note that you can change the location of any existing studio by going to the “Settings” tab of your studio dashboard, and looking for “Server Settings.” Note that you can only move a studio when you have no active sessions open.
Video Quality Improvements
High-quality HD video is available with all of JackTrip’s paid subscriptions. Now it looks even better! We’ve updated JackTrip’s preferred video codec to VP9, and increased the amount of bandwidth available for higher resolutions. If you have a good HD camera and plenty of bandwidth, you can look forward to sharper video in your next studio session!
New Unread Messages Indicator
Use the new Unread Messages Indicator to ensure that you don’t miss letters from your fans or new opportunities to collaborate. This indicator will always display how many new messages you haven’t read yet, and provide quick links to jump directly to them.
Goodbye, Virtual Studio Interface
It’s been over 4 years since I wrote the first lines of code for JackTrip’s “Virtual Studio” web interface, in a mad rush to (initially) help a few local children’s choruses sing together during the Covid pandemic. Since then, we’ve gradually replaced it with the more modern, reimagined interfaces in JackTrip’s desktop app and website at jacktrip.com.
The time has come to complete the transition by removing the original “Virtual Studio” interface. We’ve done our best to ensure that all of the functionality is preserved, and that old links will redirect to their new homes. Please let us know if you have any questions or trouble finding anything.
