What’s New?

  • Updated studio selection for digital and analog bridge devices

Removal of drop-down studio selector list

We removed the drop-down studio selector list from the Bridge Devices interface. You will see a message like this instead:

Why are we making this change?

We’ve been making a lot of improvements to Virtual Studio’s web interface. In January, we added support for low-latency video. This update also included a far richer and more streamlined experience for joining studios when using our “Join” and “Invite” buttons.

You can see all the studios you are able to connect bridge devices to (or “Join”) by clicking on the “Virtual Studios” link in the left-hand navigation menu. Clicking on a studio’s “Join” button will guide you through the process.

The button next to “Join” is called “Invite.” Clicking this will copy a link to your clipboard. Paste (Ctrl-V on Windows or Command-V on Mac) to share this link with everyone you want to join your studio. Clicking on it bypasses the list of studios altogether, connecting them directly to your studio.

You can reuse invite links for subsequent studio sessions! Share them via email, text, calendar invites, etc. Whenever someone wants to join your studio, all they need to do is click on the link.

If you have a camera, you can now use it to connect video as well. But we encourage everyone to “Join Video Room” even if you are not using a camera. The new interface provides many useful new features including integrated chat, live broadcasting and recording controls. It’s easy at a glance to see everyone who is connected, who is talking (or singing, or playing), and control all the volume levels. Remember: best practice is to keep all of your levels “in the yellow.”
