When on the JackTrip.com/discover page and I click on “Join Session” in red under “Find other musicians”, it says “Loading…” forever, but never loads.
Several times now I’ve had my own Studio up, but no one has ever joined my live session.

Synthia;
Thanks for your reply, yes my Studio is set to “Public”.
I’ve tried joining several Sessions on the Discover page, and it just says “Loading…”. Do you have any suggestions?
Isn’t the JackTrip.com/discover page the best place to find other Musicians on-line right now? If there’s a better one, please let me know. Thanks!
Synthia;
Took a while for it show “Join Session” in red, but when it finally did and I clicked on it, it just says “Loading…” forever; just like all the others I’ve tried. (FYI: we’re both using Los Angeles as our closest location and we have 22mS lag.)
Is there a better place to find other Musicians on-line right now?
I just tried to connect on your studio and confirm the “loading” message.
Just for starters: maybe something got corrupted in that studio. Just
stop that studio and create a brand new one. See if that helps.
Synthia;
Brand new Win 11 Gaming Rig from Costco with a FocusRite 18i8 Audio Interface. Installed JackTrip, created a Studio, made it Public.
I have 3 Browser Tabs stuck on “Loading…” right now (YabbaDabbaDooo, Kirk’s Jam Spot IA, Vince Jazz.)
What else do you need to know to help me?
Synthia;
Yes, I installed the DeskTop App, and connected to my Router using CAT-8 Ethernet Cable. (CAT-8 is currently the latest, fastest CAT Standard, and I was careful not to put any sharp bends in the cable.)
confirming attempt to Join Session on “Vince Jazz” as well as “Chris
Cendo’s Music Room” and both produce a message window “Loading…”
hopefully this will be resolved soon. stay tuned.
Synthia;
Clicking “Join Session” on my Studio (Chris Cendo’s Music Room) and selecting DeskTop App loads my JackTrip App. For every other Studio it just says “Loading…” indefinitely.
Synthia;
No, I’m just trying the free account for now; I wanna see it work before investing in it. My understanding is that you pay to HOST long running studios (over 50 minutes), but connecting is free.
confirming attempts to connect to the following studios all with the
same message popup: “Loading…”:
Studio C - San Francisco
YabbaDabbaDooo - Los Angeles
Chris Cendo’s Music Room - Los Angeles
Kirk’s Jam Spot IA
Vince Jazz
Synthia;
Yup, that’s exactly what I see. So you’re having the same problem then?
thanks for calling attention to it here. very unusual in my experience
here let’s see what shakes out.
@miked might have some info - standing by…
Synthia;
Is there a another way connect to a live studio, or a better place to find other Musicians on-line right now?
Oh, sorry about that! It definitely sounds like we may have introduced a bug with joining public studios.. Looking into it now..
I don’t know if it means anything or if it will help, but I noticed that when my Studio is Live the Discover Page says it’s On-Line (“Join Session” is Red,) however my Studio’s Page still says it’s Off-Line.
Chris: you might need to refresh the Discover Page after the studio goes
online.
I did Reload both pages; it takes several minutes after my Studio is live for it to show up on the discover page, my Studio’s page never shows “Online”. Seems to me part of the system is not aware it’s On-Line, and that may be why it can’t connect.
If this ain’t workin’, is there a another way connect to a live studio, or a better way to find other Musicians on-line right now?
Noted there is a Studio named “JackTrip Troubleshooting”, when I try to connect to it with the Desktop App it says “unable to find studio” with the studio’s UUID.
Then I was FINALLY able to connect with some people up in San Francisco (I’m connecting through Los Angeles), it worked, but sound was garbled. My Latency Control in the upper right was grayed out (including the “Auto” button) and I couldn’t adjust it, but someone else in the session adjusted theirs and mine went up too, but sound was still garbled. I suspect it’s from the distance from LA to SF, so I’ll try connecting with someone else connecting through LA and see if that fixes it.
I believe everything with the “Join Studio” button for public sessions is working again now. Sorry for all the trouble with that! Just for the record, I also reduced the “refresh” (cache) time on that from 10 minutes to 1 minute. This means it can now take up to 1 minute for something to appear in the list, and up to 1 minute for it to go away after the session ends.
@Chris_Cendo The “Offline” badge refers to live streaming. We currently don’t provide any indication on your studio’s public page to indicate that it has a live public session available. It would be nice to have, so I’ll add it to our list.
I was on the same session with you earlier, while I was testing out fixes to the public studio join button. I believe the garbled audio issue for you was because the audio quality was set to “lowest latency” and I think it was just too much for your connection to handle. Could be there was something flaky going on with the Internet backbone between SF and LA, but that would be very unusual. If you still experience that when the slider is all the way to to right “Higher Quality” there may be something else going on.. please submit a support ticket to investigate further.
