Thanks for your post regarding the ability for members to start a studio.
My understanding is that members must have a paid account in order to start any studio.
However, during the Free Trial period new members can start their own new studios but I am not sure if they can start another member’s studio as an admin.
If a non-paid and non-admin member was able to start a paid member’s studio, that is an important issue that the owner of that studio might consider taking out a support ticket on -support.jacktrip.com-.
Perhaps @miked could repost or clarify the latest policies regarding this issue.
@roel1965 Mike was very clear and his reply answers all your questions, that is, only those with Paid Accounts can start a new studio session. There can be only one person who owns the account and is responsible for payment. Any other arrangements are strictly outside of the agreement with JackTrip. Again, in order to start a new studio session, Studio Owners and any Admins listed on any Studio must have a Paid Account. A formal support ticket must be created and detailed information given to address any issues pertaining to the contrary. This thread is now closed. Thank you for your cooperation.
To clarify, I’m not sure you mean the same thing with “open a paid” room versus “starting a new session.” Anyone can join an active session by sending them an invite link – no subscription required. Admins can make changes to the studio’s settings and other things (non-admins can’t really do anything other than join an active session). And admins who have paid subscriptions can start new sessions. This FAQ may help clear up the terminology.
