Opening a paid room

Hello musicfriends,

We started 2 months ago with Jacktrip., and we love it!

At the start the admins could open the room, since the owner have a subscription for 1 year the admins can’t open the room anymore.

The owner made the room private but a non paid member in our group and who isn’t admin can open the room

We are confused how it all works with what admins can do more compared to “normal” members

I tried to find it in a faq or in google but I couldn’t find an answer.

Happy weekend with lots of music

Greetings Roel

Welcome @roel1965 !

Thanks for your post regarding the ability for members to start a studio.

My understanding is that members must have a paid account in order to start any studio.

However, during the Free Trial period new members can start their own new studios but I am not sure if they can start another member’s studio as an admin.

If a non-paid and non-admin member was able to start a paid member’s studio, that is an important issue that the owner of that studio might consider taking out a support ticket on -support.jacktrip.com-.

Perhaps @miked could repost or clarify the latest policies regarding this issue.

Your are correct @Synthia that only admins who have paid accounts can start new studio sessions.

Thank you Cynthia for your quick reply

Thank you Mike, so if I understand correctly

  1. a invited member can not open a paid room. ? (because it happened a few times, can you check that? If you need more info let me know.
  2. the co admins from the paid room can’t open the paid room?
  3. IF the co admin paying for a subscription, they can open the room where they are co admin?
  4. It would be nice to have a personal invite code for members.

Sorry for so many questions, and for my english

Friendly regards ,

Roel

@roel1965 Mike was very clear and his reply answers all your questions, that is, only those with Paid Accounts can start a new studio session. There can be only one person who owns the account and is responsible for payment. Any other arrangements are strictly outside of the agreement with JackTrip. Again, in order to start a new studio session, Studio Owners and any Admins listed on any Studio must have a Paid Account. A formal support ticket must be created and detailed information given to address any issues pertaining to the contrary. This thread is now closed. Thank you for your cooperation.

To clarify, I’m not sure you mean the same thing with “open a paid” room versus “starting a new session.” Anyone can join an active session by sending them an invite link – no subscription required. Admins can make changes to the studio’s settings and other things (non-admins can’t really do anything other than join an active session). And admins who have paid subscriptions can start new sessions. This FAQ may help clear up the terminology.
