Greetings from Cologne
Welcome @berndkeul !! I am so happy you’re here. Would you be willing to post a test case or tutorial for using the JackTrip plugin in your Reaper template? I would love to try it too!
It’s such a good idea! Maybe we can do a tutorial together but if not, it’s cool, I could put it together. Cheers!
hey @AMP are you using the JackTrip VST plugin?
Hello Synthia , great to hear from you n
if you want we can have a chat on Jacktrip ,
Sounds good. You’re in Cologne so 9 hours ahead of me in California.
When is best for you? I am willing to be up early or late.
so we can try my midnight that would be 15.00 for you , right ?
Great! tonight at your 12 midnight. I will post the studio link in a bit. Thanks!
Oh I should ask first if tonight works for you? Or is there a better night?
I’ve been playing around with the JackTrip VST in Reaper and its pretty straightforward but I would still would like to meet with you.
If tonight is good I will be on around your midnight and make my studio public so you can join without an invite.
Hello Synthia , I am around please send me the invite
… i don´t know where I see the active public rooms

Really sweet!
Great vibes …
I think I tried it and it was a bridge, so I just routed direct as it would be faster.
Unless it’s not the vst i’ve used that you mean.
But one thing too is i need the daw at min 128 to 256 depending on what I’m using on it
and jacktrip i have on another device which I cna get low as 32 buffers and even lower but doesn’t make a big difference to the latency for the risk of the asio driver crashing.
I run sonobus the same way now unless I need to record direct into the daw from it.
I get a better latency and more rock solid performance system wise.
I wanna test out running a docker of jacktrip, but not 100% on all the network termalology.
Could be stuff I know just not the names.
I got 2 connection here too and one is like lower pings and other not as low but overal to all achieves lower pings. So on the faster connection I had an 84 ping to someeon but on the other connection they pinged around 40.
So what I setup I might have 2 gateways so peeps can try either to achieve best ping.
I did one for Sonobus to and put it up on the discord group but seems like maybe I’ve tried a bridge and not proper vst, will have a look in a bit. But if ya on there dude check it out encase it’s any use of any of it can be added to yours.
Nice Jam too.
Synth, I see the jacktrip audio bridge, when you say vst do you mean that one?
@AMP yes, the JackTrip Audio Bridge is a VST plugin, not to be confused with the old hardware Bridge which is discontinued.
If you can use hardware to bridge then do but it’s useful if peeps only got one audio device. Some people use cables to loopback if they haven’t got loopback option’s on the device
but even the loopback options on devices have a tiny bit latency sometimes or can cause crashes.
One device I got removed it, probably because it caused more problems than it was worth.
So because of the need for low latency on the jamming apps I just hardwired from one device to another. I used to bring back the audio too but brought a great monitor’s mixer.
oes i thin up to 3 or 4 inputs and about 3 or 4 outputs and has 2 phones out. So I can hear both my daw audio interface and jamming app interface with a push of a button and on all or any of th monitors
and headphones which are routable too. Has talkback too with a mic built in. Very good for the price and saved loads of hassles.
It has an audio device built into it too which I think has an asio driver so could even be used to route audio back to a daw or the jamming app. To keep things simple though I
just route the daw with one of it’s devices output to the jamming apps device in.
I got a multi port headphones amp and reminded myself doing this post to route out the studio out into that then use the built in sound for windows so asio isn’t sharing with windows.
If anyone has multiple sound devices and needs multiple outputs to say subs or more sets of monitors then this is about £99.
@berndkeul Someone asked me on jacktrip what genre of music I liek to play but I’d say what you’ve done in this video. What would peeps call that genre? Fro me this sort of music works best for online jamming, even with some latency. It’s much more forgiving.
I call it Flauschmusik
Flausch - fluffy - fleecy
